In fact, the café was the reason for my return “ the proprietor had called me to let me know it was shutting down. I knew I had to go. I had to save it. As I neared the cafe, I saw him. He had changed. His skin was darker. His gait was stronger. It had been ten years since Id first laid eyes on him and yet it still felt as though my stomach had been turned inside out when I saw him. I waited for me to acknowledge me. But, just as before, he strode past me barely casting a nod in my direction. I guess, even after ten years, somethings never change.
